Professor Angelo Ghezzi is Chief Emeritus of Neurology and responsible for scientific research at the Multiple Sclerosis Study Center of Gallarate Hospital, the oldest Italian MS centre. His research has focused on many areas of MS, including optic neuritis, pregnancy, sexual disturbances, epilepsy, MS evolution and prognosis, MRI and clinical correlation with MS, and clinical neurophysiology (evoked potentials, pelvic floor neurophysiology). In particular, Professor Ghezzi is especially interested in the clinical and therapeutic aspects of pediatric MS.
While being a member of many national and international scientific societies, he has been an active researcher, serving as an investigator and coordinator of many international Phase I, II and III trials. Professor Ghezzi is the editor of ten books focussing on MS, and has published around 300 peer-reviewed articles.
