Sten Fredrikson, MD, PhD, is Professor of Neurology at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institute and Senior Consultant at the Department of Neurology, Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.
Professor Fredrikson’s research activities in the field of multiple sclerosis were initially focused mainly on immunological studies, including investigations of the cerebrospinal fluid. Over the recent 30 years, his research activities in multiple sclerosis have also included several other aspects of the disease.
He is author of more than 190 original articles published in peer-reviewed journals, indexed in PubMed, and he is also author of many other review articles and book chapters.
Professor Fredrikson is a member of several national and international neurological boards, eg, Chairman of the Educational and Examination Committee of the Swedish Neurological Society and Swedish delegate of the European Academy of Neurology, European Board of Neurology and MSIF International Medical and Scientific Board.
